In Italy: 6 Concerts Herman Gudjonson as soloist of Summer of Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

As he said:
Aside from music, my experiences with these festivals also added to my maturity as an individual as
I traveled alone to various countries and learned of different cultures and societies while looking after myself.

What an experience that summer: Herman first traveled to Hanover, Germany by himself via France. Two days before
he headed for Positano, Italy, there was terrorist bombing at the British subways, when he arrived France International Airport,
the workers were on strike. Dealing with massive flight delays and heightened security was quite an experience for a 14 year old traveling alone.
But Herman performed solo of Vivaldi and encore pieces at 6 concert in Italy as if nothing unusual had happened just a few days ago!

After Italy Herman traveled back to USA to attend 3 weeks of CTY, John Hopkins summer course: Human Heredity

Immediately after that, he continued heading north to Vienna, Austria for another chamber music festival.

Another summer full of music, sport, and science endeavors:

Right after school, Herman traveled to Iceland to work full time at deCode Genetics, Iceland for the whole summer.
Managing his music study with Gudny Gudmundsdottir and finding tennis court to prepare for the upcoming
Holland International Friendship Game were just the few things that he had to learn to self manage.
Living with is 80 year old grandpa sure was a good experience as he had to shop for food and prepare part of dinner
for himself and his grandpa was just added zinc in his life.

After he had won the singles and doubles titles in Holland, he had to fly back directly from Holland to Iceland and continue his work
in Iceland. That year Herman matured into a young adult and he found out that Leif Eriksson was his distance uncle too.

An inspiration: we owe to the society to reach our highest potential to provide our best to others.

"The New York Youth Symphony...often gets compared to professional orchestras, and one can hear why. Its music making is alive and full; its players are thoroughly prepared and very able...they have a freshness and a drive that seasoned ensembles are going to rediscover only very occasionally."
